Many times we compare ourselves to others without even looking at the full picture. While following some of the top leaders in our industry I noticed they all had something in common. What’s that you ask!? They put in WORK!  I’m talking 5 + YEARS OF WORK (10,000 hours +) and 9 times of 10 the experience didn’t come from their current company, but from previous work experience or even sometimes life experience. This applies for every single industry!

Understanding this is half the battle. If you’re new to your Industry then you automatically know YOU HAVE MORE WORK TO DO and be OK with that!  You gotta do what you gotta do. You have to build your mindset, your skills and your NETWORK daily! Even when you’re a seasoned professional the work does not stop!

No…It will not be easy.
Yes… You will want to quit. However, if your WHY is important enough you’ll do whatever it takes to keep going!

• Evaluate your success and Determine what works and what doesn’t and take it from there!
• Celebrate all your success (Small and BIG)

Who’s the talk of the town? Do your research via google and social media and/or Ask around.  Once you determine who the heavy hitters are, Reach out to them. Make sure their business has the same demographics as yours. Then brainstorm some ideas of how you can work together/ benefit one another. This is an easy way to connect with new people. 

Step #2 Find a way to Partner with them

Check out their upcoming events or create one together. Partner with them by sponsoring an event, asking them what you can do to help, then go to their event to Represent your brand. While in attendance connect with others and exchange contact information (follow up after the event) . Get your name out there and to support other business owners!

Step #3 Create a Buzz!

Donate products to their event, gift bags, etc. or make a monetary donation. Ensure that they agree to promote your brand. If they have a large following have them post about your business via their social media channels. This is an easy way to gain new followers/ customers! Now you have a Huge advantage because their followers will now connect with you. The best part is, their followers already believe in your brand simply because they said so! Your brand has now become a credible brand because of this. Easy Breezy!!

Court your Customers! Gift them, spoil them! 3 Ways to keep them coming back for more

As Business Owners we tend to focus more on getting new followers/fans/customers, versus focusing on our current customers. I know we are all guilty of this! For some reason, the number of followers you have determines your success to many people. From the outside looking in people associate follower #’s with success. In reality there is no such thing as overnight success and having a large quantity of followers, doesn’t necessarily mean they are or will ever become customers. Focus on quality, not quantity.

It’s time to STOP focusing on the numbers (how many new followers can I get!?) and focus on the customers/clients who have already purchased products from us. We cannot neglect them! Our goal should be keeping our customers happy (by any means necessary). This will most likely convert many of them into loyal customers and will also result an increase of word of mouth marketing.

1. Courting your Customers

Keeping in touch with your customers should be every business owners #1 priority. It’s essential to include your contact information in all your packaging so customers will be able to locate you. Also, be sure to save their contact information. But don’t stop there! Afterwards it’s a great idea to send follow up, Thank you card or gift. Many times we do not want to give away free products, however everyone loves gifts! By surprising your customers with gift(s) this will make them feel special and appreciated. This will require an investment as a Business Owner, but it will be well worth it.

2. Customer Appreciation Card

Stop and think for a second… (Count 1, 2, 3) When you support a business, do you feel appreciated? If not, will you return back to make additional purchases? More then likely, NO. Providing customers with incentives and discounts shows them you appreciate their business.

3. Customer Appreciation Party

It’s extremely important that entrepreneurs show their customers they are appreciated. Hosting a cocktail reception, Girls Night Out, Guys Night Out, Dinner Party, etc. and of course shower them with gifts and Thank you’s. I am in the process of planning a party for my customers and it’s going to be amazing! A customer appreciation event is very beneficial, it can result in repeat customers and referrals.

As Business Owners we are a work in progress and if you haven’t been applying these methods to your marketing strategy, don’t worry. It’s never too late! Let’s do this!  I WISH YOU MUCH SUCCESS!
